« Dans leur court métrage, Cazes et Freire s’attachent à décrire un lieu où, autrefois, l’activité productive battait son plein et qui, au moment du tournage, sert d’espace d’implantation pour des cabanes. À Puerto Piojo, “il y avait du boulot”, dit un ouvrier en voix off. Un vestige d’une autre époque. Toujours en décalage, les classes populaires sont reléguées dans un lieu déjà dépassé par “le progrès”. Même leurs aspirations politiques appartiennent au passé : selon l’ouvrier narrateur du film, Yrigoyen et Perón étaient “leurs pères”. “In their short film, Cazes and Freire set out to depict a place where, in the past, industrial activity was in full swing and which, at the time of filming, serves as a site for shacks. In Puerto Piojo, ‘there was work’, says a worker in a voice-over. A relic of another era. Always out of step, the working classes are relegated to a place already overtaken by ‘progress’. Even their political aspirations belong to the past: according to the worker narrating the film, Yrigoyen and Perón were ‘their fathers’.
