Dans le contexte des combats anticoloniaux de l’époque, ce film tisse des liens entre l’Amérique latine et le monde arabe, soulignant l’inscription de la cause palestinienne dans un réseau de solidarité entre peuples luttant contre l’impérialisme. Réalisé en collaboration avec l’Unité du Film Palestinien, Palestine, un autre Vietnam est composé d’images documentaires, de montage d’archives et d’entretiens avec des fedayins. Cinquante ans après, ce film continue de bouleverser nos représentations du colonialisme, de la solidarité et de la liberté.
In 1971, Argentine filmmakers Jorge Denti and Jorge Giannoni, along with Swiss artist Manuela Generali, members of the Third World Film Collective, directed Palestine, Another Vietnam in Beirut. In the context of the anticolonial struggles of the era, the film forges connections between Latin America and the Arab world, highlighting the Palestinian cause as part of a broader network of solidarity among peoples fighting against imperialism. Directed in collaboration with the Palestinian Film Unit, Palestine, Another Vietnam is composed of documentary footage, archival montage, and interviews with fedayeen. Fifty years on, this film continues to transform our understanding of colonialism, solidarity, and freedom.
