Lech Kowalski revient à Utica, aux États-Unis, ville où il a grandi, aujourd’hui touchée par le chômage. Dans une boutique désaffectée, il accueille ses anciens concitoyens avec l’écriteau « I pay for your story », proposant d’acheter les récits de leurs vies, pour en choisir un et se plonger, en totale immersion, dans le quotidien du narrateur.
Lech Kowalski returned to Utica in the United States, the city where he grew up, now blighted by unemployment. In an abandoned shop, he attracts his former fellow citizens with the sign “I pay for your story”, offering to purchase the story of their lives, with the aim of choosing one and filming in total immersion the daily life of the narrator.
