Arrivé·e à la préfecture en avance, j’ai pris des notes, lu les fascicules et les messages du gouvernement qui défilaient sur l’écran. Elle est venue me chercher en personne. J’ai dit, comme j’avais répété : « Bonjour Madame la Préfète ». Nous passons une heure à parler. Elle m’invite à venir m’installer à l’hôtel de la Préfecture le temps du tournage.
Arriving early at the prefecture, I took notes, read the pamphlets, and watched the government announcements running across the screen. She came to get me in person. I said, just as I had rehearsed: “Good morning, Madam Prefect”. We spent an hour talking. She invited me to stay at the Prefecture’s hotel for the duration of the shoot.
