Synopsis

Aboard the legendary Peugeot 504, families drove the “route du bled”, a ritual return for summer vacations to Morocco or Algeria. 504 chronicles this transhumance across the Mediterranean from the 1970s to the 1990s, blending nostalgia, automotive heritage, and intimate memories. By gathering testimonies from Maghrebis in Marseille and the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, the film weaves the narrative of this summer pendular nomadism and thus contributes to the history and memory of the Mediterranean.
