En Crète, la guerre civile a débuté avec un an de décalage par rapport au reste de la Grèce et s’est achevée en 1948, un an avant la défaite de la guérilla. Cependant, une partie des partisans vaincus n’était alors pas en mesure de quitter leur terre natale. Ceux qui sont restés, d’abord piégés dans la région de Lefka Ori (Montagnes Blanches), se sont réfugiés par la suite pendant les années qui ont suivi dans des grottes escarpées, des abris et des endroits impossibles d’accès, pour s’y cacher.

87-year-old persecuted and declared guerrilla Giannis Lionakis, in a farewell trip to the place that defined his life, tells us about a fourteen-year (1948-1962) incredible survival effort, which begins with the end of the Civil War in Crete.
