Synopsis

Miscuglio dedicates three short portraits to her friends Rony Daopoulo, Paola De Martiis and Anna Carini, with whom she created an active video collective in the late 1970s and early 1980s (with Maria Grazia Belmonti). Here, the visual research, the intimacy between the subject being filmed and the subject filming, and the freedom of the very act of filming echo the lesson of the underground cinema so loved and supported by Annabella Miscuglio when she ran the Filmstudio 70 film club in Rome. The films are very different from one another, to underline not only the diversity of the three women, but also the singularity of the relationships between the filmmaker and her friends.
