Synopsis

The revolutionary movement in Latin America in the twentieth century was largely due to the participation of millions of Christians who were involved in political struggles in the name of their faith. Driven by the theology of liberation, they challenged military regimes and oligarchies at the risk of their lives. Against the idea of religion as the opium of the people, I meet men and women who believed that the revolution represented the arrival of the Kingdom of God, on earth instead of in heaven.
